Adult Coverage

Medi-Cal for Adults and Seniors

Adults between the ages of 21 and 65 who do have children, and seniors 65 and older, can qualify for Medi-Cal insurance if they have limited assets and are in one of these need-based categories:

  • Disabled or blind
  • Have refugee status
  • Eligible for CalWorks
  • Diagnosed with breast cancer
  • Live in a nursing home
  • Eligible/receive SSI benefits
  • Have tuberculosis
  • Have AIDS/HIV

Medicaid Coverage Expansion for Adults (MCE)

San Mateo County residents who are NOT eligible for coverage through Medicare, Full-Scope or Share-of-Cost Medi-Cal are eligible. Enrollees must have income at or below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Access to Care for Everyone Program (ACE)

San Mateo County residents who are not eligible for coverage through Medicare, Full-Scope or Share-of-Cost Medi-Cal, private insurance, or other third party payers may be eligible for the ACE program. Enrollees in the ACE program must meet established income and asset levels.
