AIM: Access for Infants and Mothers (middle income women eligible)

This is a low-cost health coverage program for pregnant women whose income is too high to qualify for Medi-Cal. Women who have private insurance can also apply if they cannot afford required high deductibles and co-payments. AIM also covers medical services 2 months (60 days) after pregnancy. Women who enroll in AIM can apply for health coverage for their newborn baby through the Healthy Families program.

What are the costs for AIM coverage?

AIM coverage does not require monthly premiums or co-pays for services. There is only one amount that enrollees have to pay for their coverage. It is 1.5% of their annual income. This amount can be paid in one payment or in monthly payments.
