Support Groups
Support groups are made up of people like you, who share a particular issue or situation and meet to talk about it.
Family members or friends of a member might also join or participate to offer support. Groups may be facilitated by
a professional counselor or by someone with personal experience with the group’s focus issue.
In group sessions, members typically talk about how they are feeling as they handle the issue they are working on,
share updated information on their condition, and relate personal experiences.
Hearing from the experiences of others helps many people understand their situation better—and helps you realize
that you are not alone.
